POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist is a key member of the CIRCOR Aerospace and Defense EH&S Team. The EH&S Specialist will have primary site responsibilities for Warren, MA This position will focus on risk reduction and improving EH&S performance. The EHS Specialist will assure compliance with all applicable EHS policies and resolve EH&S deficiencies and/or issues. This role will have responsibility for safety and environmental administration, injury case management, ergonomic injury prevention, technical safety advice and site-wide safety training. This position reports directly to the SR Facilities and EH&S Manager - Warren
Principle Activities - Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Implements environmental, health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and environmental rules and regulations.
- Serve as champion of the Waste Management Program, facilitating the hazardous waste management process and providing oversight for hazardous waste storage and shipment.
- Manages facility environmental program in the areas of hazardous waste, storm water pollution and wastewater management; informs management of environmental problems (and solutions) involving employees, the company and public. In addition, prepares/submits environmental reports in compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
- Ensure all employees, both hourly and management receive all training necessary to safely perform their respective duties. This includes training for managers on programs they are required to implement.
- Implements and trains site personnel on various EH&S policies and programs, including, but not limited to safety practices, fire prevention, personal protective equipment, regulations and standards.
- Identifies and suggests corrective measures to improve each site’s accident experience and to suggest/implement means to achieve site EH&S goals.
- Ensures that mandatory OSHA reporting (U.S only) is completed – i.e.: annual OSHA 300 log.
- Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Drives the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced setting, perform other EH&S duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in EH&S or related field (science, engineering); or at least four years related experience
Preferred experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
Language Skills

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
