Job Summary

Responsible for providing continuing design support across a broad spectrum of functional area systems for Cirrus Aftermarket Upgrades & Accessories. The primary focus of the Designer is to support the generation of design solutions, having an eye for serviceability, and a basic understanding of Aftermarket drawing tree configurations. An engineering Designer is responsible for developing composite and metallic airframe, aircraft systems, and electrical designs and layouts. In this role, you will create models and detailed Aftermarket drawings of components and assemblies using Creo Parametric. They need to be self-starting to dive in and work with multiple areas to find design solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Work directly with Aftermarket Engineering to complete design modifications, new designs, incorporate engineering change orders and release detailed drawing packages
  • Create and revise solid models and detailed drawings of complex components and assemblies using Creo Parametric
  • Manage, promote and release engineering data using Windchill PDMLink
  • On a case-by-case basis, run small projects with direct support from the Engineering Manager

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or comparable work experience
  • At least two years’ experience using Creo Parametric; experience using Creo Cabling may be beneficial
  • Experience using Windchill PDMLink
  • Experience using Windchill BOM Objects preferred
  • Experience creating detailed design drawings of airframe structures, propulsion components and system components preferred
  • Understanding of top-down modeling principles and practices
  • Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Ability to work effectively with others in a cross functional organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
