Job Summary:

The Industrial Controls Engineering Technologist is the final escalation point within the Maintenance Department for issues around PLC’s, CPU’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, Motor Starters, Industrial Controllers and Automation Controls that cannot be resolved by a Maintenance Technician. The person in this position should be capable of troubleshooting and resolving difficult and complex issues as well as recommending upgrades to obsolete equipment and assisting with the installation of new equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, enhancing, and executing documented procedures.
  • Focus on real-time analysis and troubleshooting of escalated issues.
  • Provide training and mentoring to the Maintenance Team.
  • Lead in the development and enhancement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System as well as predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Will work hand in hand with the Project Management Team.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PLC’s, HMI’s, and AC and DC Motors.
  • Variable Frequency Drives, DC Drives, and sensors.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and communication protocols.
  • Working knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts with rotating days.

Education:

An associate degree in related field with 5 years of experience.
