Job Duties
- Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products.
- Interprets layouts, blueprints, operation control sheets, work orders, and rough sketches.
- Reworks and repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
- Performs advanced robotic adjustments to include basic programming modifications.
- Operates manual welder within guidelines.
- Performs metal finishing operations to smooth seams, joints, or burred surfaces using files, portable grinder, buffer, or other applicable tools.
- Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance with specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, scales, micrometers, and gages. Also visually inspects welds to determine acceptance based on referenced criteria.
- Assists in the training of team members.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to pass qualification for all manual welding with both gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding GMAW.
- Ability to pass qualification for the automated (robot) GMAW process as Welding Operator.
- Proficiency in basic math.
- Ability to read and interpret component drawings and basic welding symbols.
- Ability to operate both manual and electronic measuring equipment to determine acceptance to referenced drawing requirements.
- Practical understanding of metal working equipment, inspection equipment, and computer operation.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
