What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPB NAM Business Risk Officer position at Citi?
The Business Risk Officer will work to apply their disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits . Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of key regulatory reporting and changes to the business
- Creating and managing end to end calendar with critical steps, dependencies and dates
- Help change owners craft clear messages that address all stakeholder questions (including Legal & Compliance)
- Maintain recurring audit processes of control attributes to ensure proper calculation and control efficacy
- Help manage supporting regulatory risk and control programs including defining strategy, approach, process, quality, tools and reporting that provide global risk management consistency
- Examine procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations and client experience
- Build and develop partnerships with potential initiators/ change owners
- Assist in awareness campaigns and communications of Global Change Management objectives, process
- Develop analytics and reporting to track effectiveness of process and identify potential process improvement
- Contribute to developing enhancements of Work Flow Management tool
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members. and excellence.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Works closely with business partners on findings and makes recommendations on improving practices.
- Examines procedures for consistency and gaps relative to regulations in addition to impacts on customer experience.
- Monitors exceptions to dispute policy and identifies drivers of exceptions.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

Qualifications:
- 6-10 years relevant work experience in Business Risk & Controls
- 5 years’ experience in financial services.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Effective organizational influencing skills required.
- MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, Visual Basic a plus.
- Excellent problem solving skills Ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
