The Financial Planning & Analysis Sr. Analyst is a seasoned professional role responsible for providing development and delivery of financial projections to support Recovery strategies. Prepare and provide financial analysis to support decision making. Development, creation, preparation, and delivery of reports / presentations providing performance trends and analyses to internal clients. Utilizes communication skills and professionalism to provide data, reports, and analyses to clients. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of information. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic financial data from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop short and long-term financial projections of future financial performance
- Develop / utilize complex financial models driving efficiency and more accurate financial projections
- Analyze portfolio performance trends and provide analytical support to multiple functions within the North America Consumer Bank, including Operations, Risk Strategy and Finance
- Development, creation, preparation, and delivery of reports / presentations providing performance trends and analyses to internal clients
- Prepare and present analysis supporting the decision to sell or hold portfolio segments
- Independently designs/analyzes complex reports to satisfy management requirements
- Writes detailed and complex specifications for new report programs, spreadsheets, or other devices
- Identify trends, themes, tendencies that indicate emerging risks by relying on data mining trends in relevant metrics, loss data and external events. Effectively communicate learnings to Business to drive necessary responses and action.
- Establish processes which decrease financial projections and analysis times allowing for faster senior management decision making
- Support the businesses with identifying potential solutions to make processes more efficient and apply possible technology solutions to achieve straight through processing
- Engage technology partners where needed to implement changes and control implementations
- Regularly communicate and escalate to senior leaders on gaps and progress on gaps/action items closure related to internal Risk Assessment findings
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5 years relevant experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
- Experience with SAS and/or Microsoft SQL or other equivalent report writing databases is preferred
- Attention to detail and accuracy with demonstrated research and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively both within a work group and across operational departments
- Ability to work with little direct supervision and make sound decisions
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to multi-task and prioritize diverse and changing workloads
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business and Accounting a plus) or equivalent experience
