JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Manager will be part of the CAO organization under the Global Business Risk and Control (GBRC) group with specific focus on the Tools, Reporting, Analytics and Capabilities (TRAC) and End User Computing (EUC) governance.

GBRC is recently established and is responsible for the development of consistent control frameworks and the subsequent effort to align front line controls and monitoring to these new standards across the enterprise. The group partners with the business / function teams to develop consistent approaches and practices that ensure we have the right checks and balances in place to minimize errors and issues. This includes driving front line control remediation, control risk execution and monitoring effectiveness.

This role will provide end-to-end support, oversight and management of control-related, enterprise-wide and cross functional transformation and BAU initiatives, ensuring timely issue identification, escalation of risks and effective solution generation. The individual will provide support to complex, global programs and effectively support successful completion of programs through management reporting and / or initiative, project / program level support.

The Program Management Team is comprised of strategic contributors who are:

  • Skilled business analysts and project management professionals who possess in-depth understanding of how a Program Management team contributes to achieving strategic objectives – we are focused
  • Charged with support of the Head of TRAC as well as each of the TRAC stream leads / teams – we provide structure.
  • Experienced in working with business / function groups including, Front / Middle office, Operations, Technology, Data, Internal Audit, Risk, Controls, etc. – we are agile and well rounded.

The team is comprised of professionals with complementary skill sets who work collaboratively and have a keen interest in partnering with businesses / functions to solve complex problems at the enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with TRAC management to effectively lead and manage all aspects of large scale / complex and / or transformation projects from end-to-end definition and planning through to execution / delivery of projects
  • Establish and ensure project governance, manage project contributor teams directly or indirectly, define deliverables and content and manage quality of work products
  • Organize and facilitate meetings and committees with various levels of management to guide decision making
  • Lead cross-functional and cross-enterprise teams to deliver project objectives
    • Develop progress and status reporting to measure, monitor and report project progress to ensure that performance targets are met
    • Manage project risk and delivery by proactively identifying and raising control deficiencies and driving risk mitigation
  • Manage the production of periodic and ad hoc senior management reports.
  • Develop strong relationships; further develop and strengthen our partnership with stakeholders
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, organizations and business heads (i.e., senior management, Business & Function Risk / Control Leads, analytics and reporting managers across Citi), including working effectively with Internal Audit to confirm a common understanding of the artifacts and deliverables required to support deeper insights into Citi’s Control environment.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of management consulting, transformation project management or similar “change the bank” roles
  • Previous experience leading project teams and managing implementations
  • Consistent track record of having worked as a project manager or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects including planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running projects / programs
  • Strong analytical background including structured thinking, organization and planning skills
  • Detail oriented with structured, organized, methodical planning skillset
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, creatively problem solve / troubleshoot with the ability to exercise good judgment
  • Highly driven and motivated with a can-do attitude, a desire to drive organizational change, demonstrated eagerness to learn and ability to solve complex problems
  • Knowledge / experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic business transformation, regulatory / compliance, new business initiatives, business strategy, target operating model design, process optimization, digital transformation, retail or institutional banking
  • Effective communicator, strong written and verbal communication skills:
    • superior presentation skills
    • well-developed listening skills
    • comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills:
    • expertise in adapting to and networking across a global organization; history of building strong relationships and trust across an organization
    • experience working in collaboration across large organizations

    • work well with multiple stakeholders
    • work independently and with teams while working effectively with stakeholders
    • ability to manage complexity, conflict and build trust and credibility with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook) skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PMP or equivalent desirable
