What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lawyer Finance Lead position at Citi?
Responsibilities:
- Review credit request for new standard/program loans for compliance with product program and core credit policies.
- Underwrite and structure loans within established risk acceptance criteria, demonstrating appropriate risk-return characteristics.
- Negotiate documentation, including obtaining external counsel opinion. Ensure execution of transactions in accordance to agreed documents.
- Maintain high level of unit productivity by ensuring timely turnaround.
- Demonstrate superior partnering skills with key stakeholders including across all LFG offices in the US and UK.
- Responsible for strict adherence to the Bank and CPB compliance/regulatory framework.
- Provide on-going reporting and assessment of the credit quality and economic performance of the portfolio.
- Work with other Credit Officers to resolve/eliminate exceptions across the portfolio.
- During annual review process, monitor the client’s compliance with terms and conditions associated with previously approved facilities.
- Responsible for the early problem recognition process and must propose, when deemed appropriate, credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/ relationships.
- Participation in remedial management actions together with SARG as required.
- Increase operating efficiency by employing systemic enhancements to existing manual processes.
- Partner with the Loan Operations and Documentation Control centers to leverage best practices. Foster strong working relationships to enhance/improve service delivery to our clients.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- 10 years of experience
- Strong and proven analytical, financial structuring and execution skills
- Strong marketing skills
- Experience as a Credit Officer
- Broad knowledge of Citibank’s Credit Policies
- Broad knowledge of financial markets, investments, bank
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
