Job Description:
The team: The Email Channel is a digital production team that works with marketing program owners and fellow execution teams (i.e., data, creative management) to deliver email marketing campaigns to Citi’s Retail Bank and US Branded Cards customers. Email Campaign Managers (CMs) are subsequently responsible for all email set-up and carrying out precise campaign Controls and deployment checks to prevent execution errors. The role: The Email Channel Control Lead reports to the Channel Head and has key accountability for ensuring routine monitoring and other important Control documentation activities are delivered accurately and on-time. S/he also leads all email Issue Reporting and coordinates activities to solution and close CAPs (Corrective Action Plans) resulting from execution errors.
Key responsibilities include:
Reports all execution issues to In-Business Control. Responsible for immediately coordinating initial team meeting to understand the error and summarize for submission to the In-Business Control mailbox. Remains key point of contact for all issues, ensuring team meets milestones and closure is delivered on-time. Maintains weekly status report of all open issues; may be asked to present issues to senior leadership or prep others to do so.
Coordinates Channel’s Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) reviews. Requires gathering deployment inventory for submission to Control and subsequently working with CMs to deliver assets for detailed monitoring.
Performs similar function for coordinating ADA (American’s Disability Act) monitoring and ensures CMs correct any findings in a timely manner according the to the guidelines of the Control.
Maintains the Email Channels Procedure Manual to reflect changes/updates resulting from CAPs or in response to processes changes, new functionality, etc. (e.g., SFMC migration) to ensure the end-to-end process is sound, without any control gaps.
Works with Channel management, In-Business Control and CBORC to update ARCMs (Activities, Risk, Control, Monitoring) in response to Channel process (aligned to above responsibility).
Key participant in ARA (Annual Review Assessment).
Once familiar with end-to-end Channel process flow, can serve as a back-up to other members on the team in ad hoc meetings such as Citi Lean interviews and other process improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications:
6-10 years business experience, particularly in a marketing production environment
Knowledge, familiarity working in a control function or working closely with control teams in highly regulated industry
Deep experience in process design and documentation
Ability to learn/understand complex execution processes as described by execution team(s) to effectively lead/contribute to identifying root causes and possible solutions
Strong communications skills: ability to clearly, effectively summarize issues to Control as well as to senior leadership
Excellent relationship building with internal partners; requires collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries
Accountability, attention to detail; strong moral and ethical compass
Experience with marketing automation or related marketing technology platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or business tools such as Aprimo, Confluence, JIRA a plus
Bachelor’s degree required
