Summary of Job Responsibilities:
This position will support the branch manager by supervising tellers/bankers and owning the activities of the branch. The Assistant Branch Manager is the Customer Champion for the bank by providing exceptional customer service through direct contact with customers and building strong relationship bankers. The position will have a thorough understanding of all customer transactions, will educate customers about the bank's sales and service delivery options and refer to the appropriate products and services to match the customer's need. This position will also effectively refer customers to the appropriate bank partner to address their needs.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrates excellence in customer service and ensures customer service standards are integrated into the culture of the bank.
- Promotes employee engagement through coaching and training with the goal of leading a team of highly skilled personal bankers.
- Monitors tellers/bankers to ensure compliance with financial institution procedures and policies.
- Ability to recognize irregular or suspicious transactions and take appropriate steps to protect the customer and prevent loss to the bank.
- Ensures daily duties of front-line staff members are done timely and efficiently.
- Transactional/ATM/Recycler/Night Deposit balanced and processed daily.
- Assist in balancing of cash drawers.
- Quarterly surprise audits.
- Branch schedule complete/timecards approved.
- Order, ship, and receive vault cash and coin.
- Ensure dual control is followed and all branch audit logs are complete.
- Sign Cashier's checks within approved authority.
- Oversee branch training of tellers/bankers.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed.
- Complete end-of-month reports.
Other Essential Job Duties:
- Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, Bank policies and procedures.
- Miscellaneous clerical duties.

Minimum Level of Performance and Training Normally Required:
- A high school diploma or equivalent with additional IBA classes in Principles of Banking and Elementary Accounting I.
- Two years of progressively more responsible experience within a financial organization to gain the necessary experience and background knowledge to be an Assistant Branch Manager and deal effectively and efficiently with employees or other branch matters.
