What are the responsibilities and job description for the School based counselor position at Citizens Memorial?
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting for a MSW, LCSW, or LPC to join the dynamic team of providers already in place providing exceptional patient care at the El Dorado Springs Medical Center.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and will love working with children of all ages.
CMH school-based counselors work on site in our local school districts so that parents and guardians are relieved from bringing students into the clinic for ongoing therapy services.
Referrals to our school-based counselors come from teachers, school counselors, primary care physicians and parents.
Therapists will provide counseling for problems such as ADHD, OCD, ODD and other behavioral issues, as well as provide treatment for anxiety / depression, loss / grief, anger and trauma.
Therapists may also participate in crisis and risk assessment at school's or providers' requests. Therapists will refer students to additional community services and resources as deemed appropriate.
This position is full-time days, 8am - 5pm.
Job Requirements :
- Education : Masters Degree in Social Work, or Master's / Doctorate in Psychology with Psychology license.
- Experience : 1-3 years behavioral health or substance abuse counseling (may include pre-degree practicum)
- Skills : Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication
- Licensure / Certification : Current State of Missouri LCSW preferred. MSWs currently seeking LCSW will be considered.
