We are looking for a Valuation Advisory Services Manager to join our Advisory Department in our New York City office. As a VAS Manager, you will be responsible for providing excellent client service. Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of complex securities. Experience with 409a, tax basis, and ASC 718, equity based compensation analysis –including equity allocation.
  • Has performed Purchase Price Allocation and Goodwill impairment Testing for Financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 350 and ASC 360)
  • Provide audit support related to valuation for privately held companies, across a variety of industry sectors.
  • Provide audit support related to valuation for Purchase Price Allocation and Goodwill impairment Testing for Financial reporting purposes (ASC 805, ASC 350 and ASC 360).
  • Perform valuation analyses of closely held businesses and assets primarily for estate and gift tax reporting, litigation support, corporate planning and contemplated transactions utilizing advanced valuation techniques and financial models
  • Analyze financial statements and tax returns
  • Study financial and economic data, competitive industry dynamics and valuation multiples of guideline companies and transactions
  • Enhancing skill sets through independent study of industry publications and treatises

Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding and fair value standards (ASC 805, ASC 820, ASC 350 and ASC 360, ASC 718) and mandatory fair value framework.
  • Thorough knowledge regarding the application of valuation methodology for business entities and intangible assets, including valuation discounts and premiums.
  • Knowledge of valuation of complex instruments specifically OPM, PWERM, Monte Carlo Simulation
  • Thorough experience in a professional services firm performing valuation engagements emphasis on fair value analysis including ASC 805, ASC 820, ASC 350, ASC 360, and ASC 718.
  • Strong aptitude for applying financial accounting, corporate finance, business analysis, and report writing to create and deliver valuation solutions to the client.
  • Demonstrates thorough experience providing professional services in one or more of the following areas: business enterprise valuation, financial modeling, derivatives, intellectual property valuation, impairment testing, purchase price allocation, private equity valuation, and private companies with complex capital structure.
  • An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or engineering preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a professional environment
  • Progress towards a CFA, ASA, or equivalent preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal skills
  • Prior experience in an accounting or consulting firm a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
