Design Engineering and Construction(DEC) is the primary delivery arm for design and construction projects at DEN. The Facility Projects group within Design Engineering and Construction(DEC) manages over $325 million worth of design and construction projects of the airport’s-built environment, including new and existing buildings, systems, and equipment focusing on sustainability, the total cost of ownership, and excellence in design. Design Engineering and Construction(DEC) is approaching these facility projects with a renewed focus on constructing and rehabilitating facility infrastructure and systems to ensure operational continuity, reliability, optimization, and efficiency. We are looking for an interdisciplinary project manager who brings a depth and breadth of technical proficiency; critical problem solving, communication and facilitation; financial acumen; stewardship; and an ability to invest in the success of the DEN Design Engineering and Construction(DEC) Development facility projects throughout their project lifecycles. This project manager will oversee various facility projects tied explicitly to the Airline Tenants at DEN. The various planning and development projects currently underway will require several years to develop, design, and build. The knowledge, growth, and integration of this position with these stakeholders are instrumental to the long-term resiliency of these programs. This position will be required to consult with tenant stakeholders to determine and establish project plans and goals, formulate and define the scope of work and objectives, and develops project work plans including time frames, funding limitations, contract costs, risk factors, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the programs. This position will report to the Facility Projects Supervisor, AIM Development. Design Engineering and Construction Project Manager competencies include: Provides the knowledge, expertise, and overall support to the projects for future development, infrastructure, and overall design and construction needs at DEN Consult with stakeholders to determine, establish, and execute project work plans and goals Formulate and define scopes of work and objectives Develop project time frames, funding limitations, contract costs, risk factors, resource requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the projects Confers with management in order to maintain established project plans and goals, scope of work, and project work plans including time frames, funding limitations, contract costs, risk factors, and allotment of available resources to various phases of a project Reviews projects for code and standards compliance, monitors the progress and quality of a project, and resolves problems and project barriers by identifying strategies and approaches to overcome barriers Assists or participates in preparing pre-bid materials defining scope of work and related information necessary for request for qualifications (RFQ) and request for proposals (RFP) and responding to questions concerning the project and/or contract(s). Prepares and communicates project status reports for key stakeholders and provides updates on project activities and information on risks and mitigation strategies. Additional responsibilities include: Managing scope, schedule, and budge of assigned projects. Facilitating the delivery of Tenant projects as the primary representative of the airport for these projects. Coordinating the effective communication between various airport divisions related to the planning, execution, and turnover of these Tenant projects Creating, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules and budgets. Write Scopes of Work and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and managing design and construction contract agreements Respond to Request for Information (RFI’s), Bulletins, Change Requests/Orders. Utilize various project delivery methods. Planning, defining, and measuring project performance through reporting Construction safety management Proactively identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating project risks. Understanding and applying emotional intelligence to your work environment. Identity’s and implements innovations to improve project and team performance. Perform job walks occasionally and interfaces with City and County of Denver employees and customers. Create P.O’s (Purchase Orders) for review and join team meetings or attend in person About You Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience: Three (3) or more years of engineering, architecture, and/or construction management experience and a demonstrated history of aviation projects or facilities-type projects within critical operations facilities similar to DEN Experience with stakeholder engagement and coordination related to the development and management of facility projects design and construction efforts Experience communicating and partnering with a diverse group of individuals Experience in the architectural, engineering, and/or construction management industries Strong writing and verbal communication skills Strong education and/or experience backgrounds A drive and passion for delivering high-quality, creative, and technically sound solutions to unique problems Handle several projects simultaneously We realize your time is valuable, and we encourage applications from all creative problem solvers and inspirational leaders; however, the following are strict requirements, so please do not apply if you cannot document the following required minimum qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience: Two (2) years of professional project management experience in the related occupational group including coordinating, administering, and monitoring projects Licensures/Certification(s): Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements Licensure & Certification: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
