Sourcing Agent

JOB PURPOSE The Sourcing Agent will play a pivotal role in our operations, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of procurement for our engineering / construction business. This sourcing role will coordinate in part with our clients with regards to the purchasing and tracking of critical equipment across multiple strategic equipment suppliers. This role requires a candidate with a proven history of effectively managing vendor relationships, negotiating scheduling issues, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services. The successful candidate will leverage their 10 years of industry experience to optimize our procurement processes, drive cost savings, and enhance overall project performance. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify procurement needs and specifications for various projects. Lead the sourcing and selection of vendors, suppliers, and contractors while maintaining a strong vendor database. Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable agreements that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Oversee the procurement of a wide range of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process, utilizing data analysis and metrics to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Manage vendor performance, conducting regular evaluations and addressing any issues to ensure quality and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast procurement needs, align with budget constraints, and contribute to project planning and execution. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, a related field, a plus. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management within the engineering and construction industry. Demonstrated expertise in vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive informed decisions. Proven track record of driving cost savings and process improvements. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor relationship management and cross-functional collaboration. Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency/experience with PMWeb a plus Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
