Electric Utility Operations Manager

CLP is seeking a talented and dynamic Electric Utility Operations Manager to join the team at our Aberdeen Proving Ground site to oversee field crews and coordinate day-to-day operations. If you're looking for a stable, hands-on supervisory career opportunity, this position is for you!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct and organize field crews. On some occasions and during emergencies, this may require being on call 24/7.
- Coordinate all field activities between administrative office and field operations.
- Ensure safety of workers through proper training and enforcement
- Maintain quality control on all projects.
- Verify weekly time sheets.
- Prepare purchase orders for materials and equipment.
- Manage fleet maintenance.
- Provide input to engineering staff on cost estimates for electric transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
- Schedule and attend field walk-downs with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to understand and determine constructability requirements.
- Assist engineering department on field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation.
- Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders.
- Assist construction personnel throughout the project life cycle in tracking and understanding basis of cost estimate.
- Follow up with construction process close out at endo of project.
- Assist in preparation of construction schedules.
- Assist in preparation of look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
- Keeping emphasis on the client, will develop and understand client's culture, key people, and processes.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of five (5 ) years of experience in the utility Industry and/or possess knowledge of electric distribution, transmission and substation projects is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experienced working directly with blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assist in time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of construction schedules.
- Skilled with attention to detail and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish.
- Strong communication skills both oral and written.
- Previous experience with City Light & Power may substitute for any of the required qualifications.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- You must be a US Citizen.
- You will be required to obtain military base access security clearance.
- Valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000/year based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
