MANAGER BUSINESS SYSTEMS MSP

 

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position is responsible for coordinating the design and development of small and complex-scale, business unit specific, applications to support Residential Lending, Small Business Consumer and Commercial Loan Operations objectives (i.e., management reporting systems, loan origination systems, core accounting system of records, etc.). Responsibilities include and are not limited to: advising on current and new application feature and functions, gathering business requirements and interpreting to design and configure system capabilities, serving as a system helpdesk for users – troubleshooting issues through resolution, completing user acceptance testing on all new application implementations and enhancements, servings as the subject matter-expert and escalation point for all users of applications across the lending operations landscape, completing configuration activities that are out of T&I scope, owning the application access management processes for the division to ensure compliance is met to complete access certifications, remove and add users as deemed appropriate. The Manager of Business Systems is a key leader within the organization, who will oversee colleagues responsible for all business system analytics, including but not limited to supporting all lending production, completing quality and sound testing due to enhancements and normal BAU prompted activities, advising LOBs on system capabilities and opportunities, and keeping the core needs of the LOBS as a priority when designing the technical roadmap for the organization.

What you will do
  • Business technical owner of all lending operations applications, including but not limited to: point of sale, lending origination platforms, core system of records, and all stand alone and interfaced support applications.
  • Manages colleague group of SMEs that are responsible for interpreting business needs into designing system capabilities to reduce manual processes and drive efficiency and improvement in operational metrics across lending operations functions.
  • Point of Escalation for all lending operations management, performing research and capability mining to address user pain points or to oversee application outages through resolution
  • Manages the systems function within Residential Lending, Small Business Consumer and Commercial Operations including responsibility for supervisory functions, system advisory and beholds the ownership over all applications from a business perspective for lending operations (currently estimated as 50 applications and interfaces.)
  • Administers the unit’s computer systems and associated unique applications. Serves as primary liaison with software vendors. Makes routine changes to the system in coordination with Information Systems personnel and outside vendors. Coordinates the scheduling and implementation of major system changes and/or upgrades with Information Systems, and/or other software application vendors.
  • Administers the Bank's PC Data Security policies and procedures for the department. Supervises the daily system backup. Ensures virus protection and software compliance. Works with Information Systems to ensure accurate hardware and software inventories.
  • Oversees the divisions application access administration, enduring the overall program around access management is adhered to and maintained
  • Oversees the manual entry of all commercial and consumer rate indexes daily
  • Ownership of process improvement within applications, serving as an escalation point and advisory to lending operations leaders to co-design new system capabilities and drive efficiencies within production processes
  • Functions as network support liaison. Responsible for troubleshooting, and resolving a system problem in coordination with T&I and third party providers.
  • Where outside of scope for T&I, is accountable for the configuration of all applications, including but not limited to access role definitions, workflow enhancements and redesign, configuration of MIS features and functions, adding and structuring indicative and workflow driven fields
  • Oversees production team that adds production third party contacts into Residential Lending LOS, as well as resets workflow as needed to mitigate negative client experiences
  • Administers training for department staff on applications used exclusively by the department. Collaborates with Information Systems Project Leader to develop a training plan on new applications (this may involve development of a training class).
  • Ensures that new employees are trained on department system and that cross training is performed as directed by department managers.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software problems for unit’s staff, Contacts Information Systems for hardware-oriented problems. Serves as contact for hardware maintenance vendors as necessary, Administers diagnostic testing on equipment that is suspected to be malfunctioning. Prepares systems for relocation within department in coordination with Information Systems. Performs preventive maintenance as required.
  • Prepares reports for distribution to senior management on a monthly basis. Ensures a smooth operation on unit’s tracking systems.
  • Maintains mission critical systems related to the operation of the business unit. Participate in evaluation/demonstrations of third-party software that relates to business unit.
  • Manages daily activity of Business Systems Analyst(s); assigns and monitors duties and projects. Makes employment/termination decisions for the unit. Responsible for training, motivating and counseling supervised subordinates.
  • Maintains a proactive commitment to established bank programs, such as Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Affirmative Action.
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices, Code of Conduct, etc.).
  • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products the bank provides, the services the bank delivers, the processes employed and the incentives with which colleagues are awarded.

Must-Have*

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 6 years experience with the set-up, configuration of hardware, and programming

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven track record of implementing Blacknight MSP
  • Knowledge of lending operations workflow and processes
  • Preferred 5 years experience managing diverse teams with multi-responsibilities required to support core functions with effective and timely resolutions
  • Preferred 10 years experience liaising with technical experts and vendors
  • Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
  • Experienced leader with track record of managing large portfolio of competing priorities, aiding team members through prioritization exercises
  • Preferably banking or accounting and covering the areas of procedure development, department operations and data entry.
  • Familiarity with local area network hardware required.
  • Thorough knowledge of PC computing environments, experience with database/data warehouses, and experience using programming and reporting/query tools.
  • Strong knowledge in MS Word, Excel and MS Access.
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis techniques. Use of project management software is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
