What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teen Financial Literacy Facilitator position at City of Akron?
This is a voluntary, part-time position for high school tenth, eleventh and twelfth graders enrolled in a school located within the city of Akron corporation limits.
A student chosen for this position will facilitate other students using financial literacy lessons/workshops provided by the Mayor's Youth Leadership Council in conjunction with the U.S. Conference of Mayor's DollarWise financial literacy initiative. Upon completion of requirements, a $200 deposit will be placed into a savings account for the facilitator.

Attend a mandatory facilitator's training. Complete a minimum of six (6) lessons, consisting of two (2) each of the three required lessons using approved curriculum. Coordinate with school administrators and staff to gain permission to host in-school lessons. Promote workshops using provided marketing tools to students. Promote financial literacy tools and other related resources to students. Assist students to understand material presented. Maintain accurate records of all workshop attendees.
Performs related work as required.Completion of the ninth school year in a school located within the city of Akron corporation limits.
Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 at the end of student's ninth grade year. Submission of a copy of the student's high school transcript is required at time of application.
Must be dependable and punctual and can work with a diverse group of students. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to speak publicly in front of small to medium-sized groups. Available to attend mandatory training and facilitate a minimum required workshops within the specified time period.
