The successful candidate will have knowledge and/ or experience of the criminal justice system to include court proceedings; ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures; knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques; knowledge and ability to assess needs and to develop case plans. This incumbent will have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing including the creation of written reports; knowledge and ability to identify community resources and human service agencies to support families; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word. A valid driver’s license is required, or the ability to obtain it by the date of hire.
A related degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or equivalent/related experience is preferred. Some experience working with juveniles and their families, and community programming is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred for the position.
