Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions: Performs detailed data entry and quality control of police offense reports; proofs, keypunches, scans, and indexes case documents; assist citizens, insurance companies, attorneys, and other law enforcement agencies with open records request and accident reports; processes fees; prepares correction requests as warranted; responsible for confidential materials; must be proficient in Windows and O/S operating systems; collects payments and issues receipts for specified fees via a computerized cash receipting system, prepares and transports deposits; maintains confidential material; processes mail requests; takes offense non-emergency Police reports by phone and walk-ins; responsible for interpreting alarm ordinance to citizens in person and by telephone; prepares notification letters, and billing information; prepares and/or processes various reports; responds to citizen or police personnel requests; issues and maintains inventory control of Police forms and office supplies. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and be able to multi-task.

Working Conditions
Works indoors in an open office environment; exposed to dust/mites, constant noise and sometimes hostile public. Periodically required to retrieve files from various storage areas. Must be available to work any hours as needed; must be flexible; must be available to work approximately 28 hours per week.
Minimum Essential Qualifications
Knowledge: Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; knowledge of the operation of a CRT or personal computer, copy machine, adding machine, cash register, shredder and imaging equipment.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to type accurately; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to perform mathematical calculations; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; ability to write, speak and read the English language; ability to operate a personal computer, scanner, multi-line telephone, electronic file cabinet and copier; ability to make decisions and use independent judgment; ability to take initiative. Ability to type 30 wpm preferred.
Physical Requirements: Constantly sees, hears, and sits; frequently performs data entry, sorts, types, kneels, walks, stands, writes by hand, carries, holds, lifts, pulls and pushes object weighing up to 25 lbs. and squats; operates a calculator daily, climbs and drags objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by courses in typing and basic computer operations; two (2) years general office experience; clerical work including typing.
