The City of Beloit has an excited employment opportunity working with Municipal Court as a Court Clerk. The responsibilities a Court Clerk include specialized clerical work in supporting the programs and activities of the Municipal Court. This position involves processing legal records, providing related information to other courts, Department of Transportation, Police Departments, Tax Refund Intercept Program, State Debt Collection Program and to all other interested parties. The Court Clerk is responsible for other varied court related clerical work of a moderate to difficult nature.
The duties described above are indicative of what a Court Clerk might be asked to perform. Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid driver’s license or otherwise meet the transportation needs of the position
- A minimum of 2 years of clerical, customer service, cash handling and/or other similar experience is required with a preference for experience with municipal or circuit court clerk experience or experience working in the legal field.
- Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position may also be considered.
