The City of Blue Ash is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Aquatics Supervisor to lead our team of lifeguards and manage all aspects of our aquatic operations. This position is a part-time seasonal. Schedule is flexible, but will require occasional evenings and weekends, with an expectation of 30-35 hours a week.
Responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the aquatic facility, and staff management. The aquatic facility at the Blue Ash Recreation Center includes an Olympic sized swimming pool, two-145-foot dual twist tube water slides, and a Family Wading Pool accommodating all ages and abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Staff Management
- Manage the schedule, training, and supervision for up to 50 lifeguards to ensure superior service and safety
- Manage preseason duties, including onboarding, and training of all team members to ensure they are well prepared for their role
- Conduct staff meetings and performance evaluations to ensure that staff are meeting expectations and to identify areas of improvement
- Coordinate, plan and lead staff trainings focusing on CPR, First Aid, and water rescues
- Develop and coordinate staff retention plans
- Assist in staff interpersonal situations and make recommendations for staff discipline
- Maintain regular ongoing communication with Recreation Supervisor to create awareness of aquatics objectives and communicate expectations
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patron inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely manner
- Monitor and maintain proper chemical water balance and ensure filtration systems are maintained
- Assures all pool equipment is maintained and working properly
- Respond quickly to emergencies, take decisive action, and involve additional assistance as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in the facility
- Assist in preparing and implementing operating and staffing budgets
- Assist in purchasing aquatic equipment, supplies and facility needs
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Knowledge of current American Red Cross Lifeguarding standards/procedures and/or current certification
- High organization skills
- Superior supervisory/management skills
- Enthusiastic personality interested in providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; good decision-maker
- Flexible availability and ability to work at least 30-35 hours per week
- Ability to works nights and weekends
- Ability to work outdoors under different weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand /and or walk up to 6 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and a comprehensive background check
- American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training
- American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Instructor Training
- Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operators certification
- Previous experience as an Aquatics Supervisor
- 2 years of leadership experience
