Work Schedule: Friday – Tuesday, 7:30 AM to 4:30PM
June – September 2023
Salary: Hourly $ 16.62
The City of Boerne Animal Care Services department provides services for the care of pets and animals while enforcing animal-related laws established by city ordinance. The department is committed to balancing the health, public safety, and welfare needs of people and animals in the community.

Your day-to-day tasks would include cleaning, maintenance, and sanitizing of kennels and all other areas of the facility; ensuring food and water are provided to animals; perform basic shelter care such as medicating, bathing, micro-chipping, and assists the Animal Control Officers with euthanizing as needed. Responsible for providing excellent customer service over the phone and in-person to residents with inquiries to include but not limited to adoption, surrender, and dispatching Animal Control Officers to calls for service. Working conditions are in an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to temperature variations, infectious diseases, chemicals, disinfectants, unfavorable odors, and hostile animals.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
High school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate, One (1) year of experience in an animal shelter, animal rescue, veterinary clinic, or other animal-related industry.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License. Certification as State of Texas Certified Euthanasia Technician, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months.
