Job Posting for Administrative Assistant II - Parking at City of Boise
Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support for the parking compliance office. Compiles and distributes system reports and data analytics to management. Pulls parking permits and responds courteously and professionally to public inquires and complaints regarding parking violations. Provides education on applicable codes, policies and procedures. Coordinates and tracks assignments, documents and administrative processes. This position works under immediate/direct supervision.
Provides administrative support for the parking compliance staff. Provides and administers general coordination between management and front-line team members. Manages parking permits, meter hood requests, and the city hall employee parking garage waitlist. Administers various parking permit programs and sends out communication to permit holders. Manages calls and voicemails concerning parking citations or questions about permits. Reviews and responds to incoming emails.
Manages the intake and processing of parking ticket appeals. Assists with processing routine complaints and issues decisions on appeals. Maintains a high level of discretion when answering questions and provides accurate information. Reviews and evaluates parking tickets and relays escalated complaints to the parking supervisor/manager or court system. Enters police-issued citations into the system. Searches and enters vehicle owner information for any recent citations. Updates addresses on return mails. Collects information for high-value or duplicate accounts and sends notices via email or mail.
Coordinates with multiple departments and external resources to assist with parking ticket collection efforts. Maintains a high level of discretion when helping identify vehicle owners, administers the towing of vehicles with unpaid tickets and coordinates the collection of unpaid tickets. Compiles and reviews parking revenue reports. Compiles monthly revenue statistics and helps analyze and respond to record requests regarding parking.
Assists with administrative coverage for a variety of departmental divisions. Updates monthly financial data and sends a report to the financial team. Coordinates with fleet services on any motor pool vehicle maintenance problems and assists city employees with electronic vehicle reservations.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Is capable of performing all duties of an Administrative Assistant I and provides team support and training, as needed.

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training High school diploma or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior-level management with administrative and/or operational support duties in public administration or administrative research.
Knowledge of:
research techniques
office administration, management practices, and procedures, including the principles and practices of business communication
spelling, grammar, and punctuation
computer usage including related software; record keeping and filing practices
parking operations, services, procedures, and policies
general customer service techniques.

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Three years of experience performing general and/or governmental administrative, clerical and customer service duties with significant experience interpreting and applying governmental laws and regulations.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid state-issued driver's license.
Special Requirements Applicants must be able to pass:
City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
