GENERAL PURPOSE:Under general supervision, provides hardware and software technical support to City of Casa Grande personnel on behalf of the Information Technology (IT) Division.PRIMARYDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Provides general technical support to all staff and elected officials. This includes hardware, software, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies.
Researches client-side technologies and recommends viable solutions to the Senior Information Technology (IT) Technician.
Assists with client-side software and hardware maintenance.
Assists with software license compliance.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience: Associate Degree in Computer Science, and two (2) years of applied technical support, including one (1) year of professional experience in either software support, hardware maintenance or telecommunications; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements: Valid State of Arizona Driver’s License. This position also supports public safety personnel and systems. Employee will need to maintain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Network Terminal Operator: Technical – Level D certification with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) after hire. Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
Knowledge of software licensing with an emphasis on Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and Microsoft Software Assurance.
Knowledge of client-side computer operating systems with an emphasis on Microsoft Windows 10 and Apple iOS.
Knowledge of computer hardware with an emphasis on products manufactured by Dell, Panasonic, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Apple and Xerox.
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and other network concepts relevant to troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) and Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud architecture.
Knowledge of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) technologies.
Knowledge of NetMotion Mobility XE.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and Active Network software solutions.
Ability to operate in a small team environment.
Skill in the use of diagnostic software and hardware to repair computers and peripherals.
Skill in customer service and critical thinking.
Skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing.
