JOB SUMMARY The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs repairs and maintenance on municipal owned structures, involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance work, and assists other departments as assigned. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs building maintenance and repair work, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, painting, mechanical work, and other manual duties as needed at any of the City’s municipally owned structures;Inspects structures and facilities, evaluating work needed and determining the best method for completing maintenance and repairs;Calculates material and/or labor costs, preparing and processing purchase orders for parts and supplies to complete work orders;Maintains accurate records;Assists other departments as assigned; andPerforms such other related duties as may be assigned.
