The City of Colleyville is seeking a highly qualified graduate or undergraduate student for its internship program. The purpose of this program is to expose students to the local government work place and provide hands on experience in as many areas of local government as practical so as to prepare the intern for a successful career in local government. The internship will consist of varied work assignments, observation periods, attendance in meetings, completion of specific assigned tasks, presentations at public meetings, mentoring, reading assignments, research, and other relevant learning/work activities.The ideal candidate will be a highly energetic and competent individual who can multi-task and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires that the selected candidate currently be enrolled in a Master of Public Administration program, with the goal of obtaining a MPA degree or currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in a related field. It is preferred that applicants have completed at least one semester of MPA/undergraduate courses, and have a focus in local government management. The internship is intended to be temporary and will last for a period of up to 440 hours. The average work schedule will be 20 hours per week.
