What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Analyst - ADA and Leaves position at City of Commerce City?

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our benefits team! As an HR Analyst primarily focused on ADA and Leave, you will perform a full range of advanced-level professional services related to employee leave and accommodations. This position requires specialized knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the ADA Amendment of 2008, the state of Colorado, local leave laws, and short-term and long-term disability plans. 

We seek a team member who exhibits mindfulness while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. The successful applicant will be entrusted with confidential information and expected to actively listen and demonstrate emotional intelligence while engaging with employees and their supervisors.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for this position is $68,855 - $76,505.71 /annual.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, a Social Science or other aligned degree and two (2) years of professional Human Resources experience directly related to the position. OR
  • An Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, a Social Science or other aligned degree and four (4) years of professional Human Resources experience directly related to the position. OR

  • A high school diploma/GED and six (6) years of professional-level human resources experience directly related to the position.

  • An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

  • Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA, ADA, leave administrationPHR,SHRM-CP, or CEBS are preferred but not required.
