What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Maintenance Worker position at City of Delray Beach?
The City of Delray Beach is a Non-Tobacco Workplace. These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other job-related marginal duties as required.
1. Perform helper and semi-skilled tasks in: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, dry wall, concrete, tile and patch, HVAC, roofing and conduct safety inspections and preventive maintenance.
2. Perform custodial functions, general building maintenance and repairs.
3. Move furniture and other objects; assist in normal cleanup activities.
4. Open facilities set up chairs and tables for activities.
5. Knowledge and skill in the use of equipment and tools.
6. Knowledge of the safety aspects of work.
7. Ability to perform manual labor, and building repairs
8. Ability to read and write and follow directions.
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Some semi-skilled experience in the building maintenance field.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with a good driving record.
Knowledge of routine manual work in the cleaning and upkeep of facilities. Knowledge of buildings maintenance. Ability to perform heavy manual labor under adverse weather conditions, follow written and oral instructions and complete daily worksheets and/or keep records. Skill in operation of equipment and tools related to the position.
