What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Cadet position at City of Dover?

The City of Dover is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of part-time Police Cadet in the Police Department. The primary duties of this position are to provide law enforcement assistance to the Police Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas in the Downtown Dover and Dover Public Library area to enforce City of Dover Ordinances
- Process prisoners, including completing required paperwork and operation mug shot image computer
- Issue summons to ordinances violators & completes arrest reports as needed
- Assist other police personnel as directed
- Assist with administrative and operational goals of the department
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License
- In-depth background investigation
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Physical fitness test
A criminal background investigation will be required. Candidates may be given a job-related test during the interview.
