Code Enforcement Case Management Specialist

JOB
Performs difficult skilled administrative support work assisting with Code Enforcement projects and cases. Will update and track projects and code enforcement activities. Does related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Codes Administrator.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Track projects and Code Enforcement activities related to minimum housing, and nuisance lot ordinance violations. (35%)Update and maintain project files using various computer based systems. (25%)Answer customer inquiries over the phone and in person. (25%)Manage expenditures and purchase orders. (15%)

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university a Bachelor's degree in sociology, psychology, business administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands: 1. The physical activity of this position includes: Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.2. The physical requirements of this position: Office Environment Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Office environment work involves sitting most of the time. Special Requirements/Additional Information: Law and Administration and NC Notary Courses within 1 year of hire.Complete NIMS Training: IS-100, 200, & 700 within twelve months of hire.Must possess a valid appropriate driver's license with acceptable driving history.
