Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
- Provides maintenance and repair to various City facilities; troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs or replaces components.
- Performs upkeep and repair for plumbing fixtures; trouble shoots, repairs and winterizes plumbing systems.
- Diagnoses and repairs doors; installs a variety of locksets
- Completes safety trainings to ensure safety for building occupants, visitors and self protection from various building hazards; acts as first responder for fire alarms
- Oversees outside contractor work for projects
- Enters and receives computer data for work orders, security video monitoring, lighting control, utility readings, materials procurement and weekly time sheets
- Performs related work as required
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- At least three (2) years of related work experience in a variety of trades or construction work
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license.
