Compensation and Benefits:
The Full Salary Range is $33,097 - $47,439. The expected hiring range is $37,951-$46,173 depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Monday- OFF, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00am-05:30PM, Thursday 09:15AM-05:30PM, Friday 09:30AM-05:30PM, and Saturday 06:45AM-01:30PM

The Scale House Clerk will be responsible for assuring that access to the Transfer Station facility is controlled. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Operating the computerized scale using the PDOX Truck Scale Management System data entry application
• Identifying waste types in order to accept or reject waste in compliance with permit conditions and applicable regulations
• Collecting monies received
• Directing customers to the disposal sites
• Communicating with employees using a two-way radio
The successful candidate will also provide customer service via telephone and at the point of service by answering questions regarding waste disposal rules, regulations, tipping fees, hours of operation, and responding to/resolving customer complaints. Additional duties include: basic accounting, cash management, record keeping, preparing daily bank deposits and change-order requests, and producing computer-generated reports as needed. This position requires extensive alpha-numeric data entry.
The City of Greensboro pays employees semi-monthly and the position is assigned to a 40-hour work schedule. These schedules are subject to change during holiday weeks, staff shortages, or for emergency service, which may require working an extended schedule on short notice, including the possibility of a six-day work week. This employee must have good attendance.
The position requires distance vision. The noise level is usually moderate. The physical requirements of the job involve talking, hearing, sitting for extended periods, reaching, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 10 lbs. - High School Diploma or GED with 9 months of clerical experience in an office setting
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience handling and balancing cash transactions;
- Experience using a 10-key calculator
- Waste disposal experience such as landfill, transfer station, recycling processing facility, etc.
- One to three years of clerical experience in an office setting
- Certified Weigh Master designation
- Truck scale software experience
