2 open positions Monday – Friday 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. & 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

The Part-Time Parking Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing all parking ordinances of the City of Hagerstown. Persons in the position work primarily outdoors during all seasons, sometimes under adverse weather conditions and mostly independent with limited supervision.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age having worked with the public in a service-related capacity.
License & Certification: Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the City’s vehicle operations policy.
Essential Duties: Duties may include, but are not limited to: Patrol metered and regulated parking areas on foot or by vehicle as assigned for the purpose of observing parking violations; Issue warnings or citations for parking violations consistent with the City policy and supervisor direction using electronic devices; Arrange for vehicles to be towed in cooperation with the Hagerstown Police Department; Install and remove vehicle immobilizing devices (“boots”) as necessary; Testify in court cases concerning citations or other incidents witnessed as a result of acting in the capacity of an employee of the City; Read, comprehend, and apply a variety of legal and other documents, maps, and reference material to properly enforce the parking regulations and comply with departmental guidelines and procedures; Respond to questions and inquiries relating to parking regulations and enforcement; Other related duties as assigned.
