Exercises lead worker responsibilities over assigned departmental staff.

Successful Candidates Will Have:
- 5 years of construction inspection experience, preferably in public works projects.
- Professional, collaborative and proactive approach with excellent customer service.
- Experience should include review and participation in the development of construction plans, specifications, and as-builts.
- Familiar with ODOT specifications, Clean Water Services (CWS) design and construction standards, permitting in the City of Hillsboro or Washington County, and general construction best practices. Ideally the candidate will have experience in road construction and right-of-way development. Ability to use permitting, plan review and asset management systems as well as field equipment such as GPS.
- Serve as a lead worker over assigned personnel responsible for day-to-day coordination of related issues including directing and reviewing work, providing trainings, participating in performance evaluations, monitoring time and attendance, and answering technical questions.
- Oversee technical reviews and administrative support of engineering operations. Receives, reviews and processes permit applications and coordinates permit review process with internal staff and external agencies.
- Respond to concerns and requests for information from staff, contractors, and the general public; gathers, researches, and analyzes plans, specifications, construction documents and related records, and provides feedback and project status information; acts as a liaison between department and staff, clients and the public.
- Conduct regular, task and project related status meetings with consultants, contractors, the public, and involved parties including but not limited to pre-construction/construction status, interdepartmental coordination, team coordination, and public information.
- Perform field inspections, research, and asset inventory; reviews quality issues; conducts various studies and observations, and gathers data; reports findings and provides recommendations on compliance issues and project status; tests equipment and provides information on equipment requirements.
