Position Summary
The Director has a primary responsibility of leading advanced analytics and ensuring alignment with the mission, vision strategies, objectives, and business goals. This position will support the enterprise with both predictive and prescriptive analytics in the areas of market share, marketing mix and consumer sentiments. This role will rely on effective collaboration with Marketing and Communications, Finance, Enterprise Growth & Innovation, Corporate Strategy and Enterprise Data Intelligence teams.
The candidate must possess a superior skillset in the areas of big-data analytics, algorithm development and machine learning for advanced data modeling in order to develop insights, foresights and recommended actions to address business challenges and opportunities. Additionally, this position will focus on standardizing and blending data from disparate sources. They should have the ability to structure data analysis, driving analytics insights and analytical solutions. The candidate should have the ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions, presents recommendations to senior leaders and internal clients.
Key Responsibilities include:
Leadership:
- This position leads the development and implementation of advanced analytics including optimization and predictive analytics to drive business outcomes. They provide thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business.
Strategy:
- In this role, they provide the enterprise with visibility into data-driven insights that helps inform the business strategic direction. They also determines the adoption of suitable modular tool-sets that drive innovative thinking and create an advantage for the business.
Analytical Skills:
- The ideal candidate is adept at using a large data sets to find opportunities and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must be highly knowledgeable in the use of emerging open source tools while conducting analyses on large and unstructured datasets. This position will assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques. They will also develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and accuracy
Collaboration:
- This role works closely with internal clients to identify opportunities for leveraging company and third-party data to drive actionable recommendations against the business objectives.
Knowledge and Opportunity:
- The candidate should have the passion and drive to stay informed and keep up with the latest modeling techniques and technology that they subsequently imparts to the Market Intelligence team for constant growth and optimal business performance.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Bachelor’s Degree. Experience may substitute for educational requirement.
- 7 years of working experience in solving analytical issues through quantitative approaches and machine learning methods, vast experience using advanced statistical methods, data mining techniques and creating/running simulations.
- 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
- Must have a proven ability to drive business results with data-based insights.
- Experience in R, Python, SQL
Preferred education experience and skills:
- Master’s or PhD (preferred) degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Science, Applied Math or another quantitative field
