DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Terminal Management exists to deliver a 5-star experience for all passengers travelling through Houston’s airports. This experience includes all Guest facing services from the time a passenger enters the airport facility to the time they depart on an aircraft and vice versa. The scope of Terminal Management’s responsibility includes aesthetic appearance, functional condition of airport facilities and amenities, operational readiness, and terminal ambiance. Terminal Management is the primary liaison with airlines, federal agencies and any Guest facing service provider at the airports as well as with Skytrax, an organization that rates airlines and airports worldwide and is the inspiration for the Houston Airport System’s mission of becoming a 5-star global air service gateway where the magic of flight is celebrated.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of the Administrative Coordinator will be providing support to the ADA Program within the Houston Airport System. The position will be responsible for research, analysis, and assists in the Identification of barriers to accessibility to ensure that HAS facilities, programs, activities, and services comply with FAA, other Federal, State and City of Houston regulations regarding accessibility requirements. The position will assist in the development and implementation of HAS ADA Program, policies and procedures governing implementation and compliance with all ADA laws pertaining to People with Disabilities and Accommodations for HAS personnel, other Airport Stakeholders, and people with disabilities engaging with HAS. The Administrative Coordinator will assist in the collection, receipt, and investigation of complaints of discrimination covered by the ADA, as well as other federal, state and local ADA laws. The position will assist in the preparation of records, files, responses, reports and documents required for compliance with FAA, Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR), and City of Houston regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Requires the ability to make coordinated gross motor movements in response to changing external stimuli within moderately demanding tolerances; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within low tolerance demands with no real speed requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) years of administrative experience is required.

Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirements on a year-for-year basis.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with ADA programs in the airport industry.
