Job Description

The objective of the Main Street Manager is to manage all functions of the Main Street program including overseeing project activities to promote economic development, event planning and management, marketing, communication efforts and creating content for Main Street media outlets.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

Manage all Main Street Program projects:
Responsible for production of downtown events, such as Junk-a-palooza, Christmas Fair, Scare on the Square, Small Business Saturday, and Touch-a-Truck.
Work with the Texas Main Street office at the Texas Historical Commission to develop and maintain a long-term revitalization vision for downtown and utilize strategic planning tools to implement the vision and goals for the program.
Manage the operations of the Main Street Advisory Board as staff advisor and work on the development and implementation of annual action plans, projects and activities.
Develop and maintain productive, cooperative working relationships with relevant organizations and agencies at a national, state and local level, required to achieve Main Street strategic goals.
Serve as the contact for development prospects for downtown and provide information for property owners interested in selling or leasing their property; assist and guide investors in connecting with the property and business owners within the downtown area.
Prepare, submit, and monitor annual budget for the Main Street Division.
Ability to handle unforeseen maintenance needs in order to create or preserve an attractive physical setting, while using proper preservation techniques.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:
Bachelor"s degree in Marketing, History, Business or related field is required.
Three (3) years" experience in economic development, tourism, public relations, non-profit association management and/or marketing or related field.
Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of the Main Street Program, preferred.

Required Licenses or Certifications:
A valid Texas Driver"s License and acceptable driving record.

Applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding new marketing trends and marketing effectiveness.
Applicable safety rules and regulations to protect citizens and employees.
Ability to lead, motivate others and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to plan, prioritize, delegate and carry out work with minimal supervision.
Ability to cooperate in a professional manner with staff, volunteers and the public.
Ability to research methodology, activities and analysis of marketing initiatives, goals, and programs.
Must be able to read and interpret building/land development codes, municipal codes and ordinances, regulations and guidelines pertaining to revitalization; must have ability to prepare budgets, program/project documentation, reports and marketing materials.
This position requires working evening and weekend hours, as needed.
Multi-tasking and working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Ability to prepare and read financial reports, such as, bank deposits, budgets, etc.

Physical Environment

The duties of this job include physical activities such as climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, and repetitive motions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The duties of this job require lifting of heavy objects weighing approximately 40 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Performing work duties and attending events outside the normally scheduled work hours.

Work Environment

Inside and outside work environment.
Repetitive activities (performance of same physically demanding activity).
Working under distractions (telephone calls, disturbances, etc.).
Unpleasant social situations (necessity of dealing with irate or disturbed individuals).

Schedule:
8-hour shift
Monday to Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm)
This position requires occasionally working evening and weekend hours.
Occasional travel

Salary : $54,764 - $66,725
