Johnson City Fire Department Firefighter Examination Online Registration
Registration dates: October 24, 2022- December 2, 2022
Requirements for registering: 18 years of age by December 12, 2022, high school graduate or GED, physically able to perform the duties of a firefighter trainee as defined by the City of Johnson City, and not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude other than a minor traffic violation. Applicants must possess a valid drivers' license with NO suspensions or revocations within the past 24 cumulative months. The following general guidelines apply to the sale and use of illegal drugs: The applicant cannot have ever sold illegal drugs or narcotics. The applicant cannot have used marijuana within the past two (2) years. The applicant cannot have used marijuana more than 15 times within the past (5) years. The applicant cannot have used any illegal drug or narcotic (other than marijuana) within the past three (3) years. The applicant cannot have used any illegal drug or narcotic (other than marijuana) more than (5) times within the past 10 years.
If hired, applicants will be eligible for the following incentives: Tennessee Certified Firefighter I $1,200 incentive Tennessee EMT (Basic) $1,350 incentive Tennessee EMT (Advance) $1,350 incentive Documented evidence of the training level must be provided and is subject to verification by the Human Resources department. All certifications must be issued by or approved by the State of Tennessee.
