What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Manager 38 position at City of Lansing?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Performs a wide range of duties relating to the management of City, State, and Federally-funded contracts with community service agencies.
-Provides oversight to federal programming dollars received by the Department.
-Coordinates and prepares federal grant application on behalf of the City as grantee.
- Provides technical support to Lansing area agencies with contractual agreements.
- Meets with community service agencies to determine: service existence or non-existence, to mediate "turf" issues, and ensure cooperation and coordination for providing comprehensive services.
-Develops policies, programs and principles that address grant-funding and other special requirements to meet the growing demands of the community with the approval of the Director.
-Writes grant applications on behalf of the City according to required format and submits applications to funding agencies.
-Meets with representatives of funding sources to work out final details for proposals with the approval of the Department Director.
-Coordinates, evaluate and monitor the program and financial requirements.
-Drives an automobile to and from work sites.
Ideal candidates will possess:
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Community Development, Sociology, Business Administration or a related field AND
-Three (3) years of experience performing contract management work, which includes developing, evaluating and administering grant-funded programs in public and non-profit agencies OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
-Experience and knowledge of Human Services grants is preferred.
-Accounting and Financial management experience preferred.
-Must have experience in the operation of a personal computer for record keeping and report writing.
-Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be dependable and possess a good work record.
