- Starting Salary: $61,089.60
- After Six Months of Successful Employment: $62,296.00
- After One Year of Successful Employment: $65,104.00
- Maximum salary is achieved after four successful years of employment.
- Be a citizen of the United States or resident alien with the right to work in the United States; and
- Have a high school diploma or a valid equivalency certificate; and
- Be employed in a State of Michigan Assessment Department; and
- Possess a State Tax Commission Michigan Certified Assessing Officer (MCAO) certificate from the State of Michigan; and
- Have a minimum of two years paid work experience in municipal real property appraisal; and
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities
- Appraise residential property using the cost and sales comparison approaches to valuation
- Measure and compute residential properties for data entry into BSA System
- Read and understand legal descriptions and plat maps
- Prepare and compile board of review data
- Principals of real property assessing, methodology, and calculation of land and building assessed values
- Methodology of appraising residential properties and computing annual personal property statements
NOTE: At the time of appointment, applicants are required to pass a pre-employment medical examination conducted by a physician authorized by the City of Livonia.
