Join the Madison Heights Team as a Full Time Fiscal Assistant II in the Finance/Treasurer Office
DUTIES: To assist residents, business owners, contractors and other members of the public with financial transactions at the Finance/Treasurer Office. Work includes, but is not limited to, working at the counter assisting residents and the public to process water bills, tax bills, building permits and fees, as well as business license fees, birth and death certificate fees, animal licensing fees and any other fees associated with business conducted at City Hall. Must be proficient at handling cash transactions with efficiency and accuracy.
This position will also assist with answering multi-line phones, responding to concerns by providing relevant information, and directing callers or customers at the counter to the appropriate department for further assistance as appropriate. This position will help open and sort mail, scan finance records, file records, and complete close out of daily transactions. The successful candidate should have basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Must be a problem solver who can work effectively and pleasantly with the public and other employees.

REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience with efficient and accurate cash handling in a business setting required.
High school graduation (or GED) required.
Minimum one year of college with classes in accounting or finance strongly desirable but not required.
Experience with computer applications - Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Access) required.
Must be able to learn City protocol for general operations and be willing to learn BS&A software as well as scanning systems for the Finance/Treasurer Department.
Salary: $47,570 - $53,752 plus competitive benefits, including an onsite clinic with free general physician services and free non-narcotic prescriptions!
