Special Events Assistant / Recreation Leader III

Required Education and Experience:

• Graduation from High School or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience with organized recreational activities, sports, and/or childcare; experience must demonstrate responsibility and customer service.
• One (1) year of college level course work in recreation or childcare can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
• Must maintain acceptable driving record.
• Requires completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with sound systems and movie projectors for outdoor events.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and professionalism, with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with public speaking, as some events may require addressing attendees.
• Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate as a team player in a dynamic environment.

Available Schedule:

• Up to 24 hours per week.
• Hours will vary based on operational needs and individual availability.

The anticipated hiring range for the Recreation Leader III position is $19.43 (first step) to $20.40 (second step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Three steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
