This is an advanced technical position that works with teams of technical professionals engaged in the deployment, configuration, and management of enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. These ERP systems include, but are not limited to financials, human resources, timekeeping, staffing and scheduling. The System Analyst is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the city's ERP platforms and does related work as directed. This position requires stand-by hours on a regular or rotating basis plus adjusting work hours as necessary.
This professional position reports to an assigned supervisor and may exercise some degree of autonomy in accomplishing the IT department's strategic goals while providing technical support and project execution for various City departments. This includes assisting other technical staff and stakeholders with the planning, development, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of all ERP systems as required. The person will also assist technical staff as required to analyze and resolve end user computing experience and global customer issues in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition, this position will provide end user and peer training where required

- Works closely with HR and Finance departments on troubleshooting daily payroll and batch import/export processes.
- Monitors ERP systems for operational efficiency and performance.
- Makes modifications, corrections and updates of software systems; conducts diagnostic tests of software/hardware systems as required and makes corrections and adjustments as necessary.
- Provide technical direction and assistance to technical staff on ERP and timekeeping application systems, problem resolution and system outage troubleshooting procedures.
- Provides help to users by answering in-person, or phone support requests for hardware and software issues.
- Follow best practices and tools for project execution and management, as directed by IT Project Management Office.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and their potential impact on the Department’s initiatives.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Performs occasional hands-on support at the desktop/laptop level.
- Participates in fact finding interviews to gather information; applies current state-of-the-art technology to effect solution of problems; arrives at design objectives and requirements.
- Evaluates documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.
- Manage and implement projects with timelines, responsibilities, and budgets, due dates, tracking, presentations, training, and on-going support.
- Education: Any combination of education and training which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, graduation from a four year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field would provide this opportunity.
- Experience: Any combination of training and experience which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, five years of technical professional experience involving systems analysis, programming, systems engineering, or similar field in a multi-platform information systems environment including experience installing and maintaining systems software and working with database structures. Additional, highly relevant professional level experience may be substituted for the required education. Financial or government industry experience will also be considered.
- Related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERENCES:
- Previous experience with Kronos Workforce Dimensions and/or Kronos Telestaff
- Previous experience in public sector, specifically one with Public Safety departments.
- The ideal candidate will have two or more years of experience with Tyler products, such as Munis, EnerGov, Utility Billing & Cashiering.
- General understanding of Utility Billing processes within a city or municipality.
- Experience with Power Details, or similar off duty scheduling applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Office 365

- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
