What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tree Trimmer position at City of Miami Beach?
Skilled work in the trimming and removal of canopy trees and palms with the ability to use most industry standard pruning tools and vehicular equipment.
- Pruning of canopy trees and palms to all current ANSI standards in public areas.
- Safe removal of hazardous canopy trees and palm in public areas.
- Work at considerable heights when necessary.
- Operate and perform basic repair on chainsaws and other pruning equipment.
- Installation and transplanting of trees, palms, and other landscape plant materials.
- Performs related work as required
- Six (6) months' full-time experience as a tree trimmer
- Obtain Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License valid for air brakes within 6 months of appointment
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to effectively use and operate various equipment used in tree trimming, removal, planting, transplanting, and stump removal.
- Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact
- Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling in the performance of tree maintenance techniques
- Ability to lift heavy objects
