Basic Purpose of the Job :
Under general supervision of the Animal Shelter Manager. Performs a variety of assigned duties and responsibilities involved in the operation of the Animal Shelter.
Learns and adheres to safety standards.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED : Work under the general direction and guidance of the Animal Shelter Manager. Must be able to exercise sound judgment.

Physical Demands : Regularly performs strenuous physical activities. Lift and / or move 50 pounds frequently. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Hand / eye coordination for operation of personal computer; vision for reading and preparing written reports and documents;
frequent speech communication, hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens. Subject to many interruptions and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
Work Environment : Exposure to outside elements, with walking in inclement weather.Frequent exposure to cleaning products including bleach, as well as other chemicals.

- Under direct supervision, cares for stray and abandoned animals and serves the public in regard to animal shelter services.
- Cleans the Animal Shelter and provides proper care for the animals.
- Provides excellent customer service and assists the general public with questions. Assists with animal adoptions.
- Conducts initial health examinations and administers proper vaccinations on incoming animals, administers medication to animals as prescribed by the shelter manager and veterinarian.
- Maintains several logs including ?lost and found pets.?
- Completes paperwork and prepares animals for transport by 8 : 00am each day. Ensures the Animal Control Officer has required information to transport animals to appropriate locations.
- Follows city safety regulations and practices proper safety precautions related to all work performed.

Minimum qualifications & Requirements
Job Requirement :
- Ability to calculate basic math
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to comply with safety standards
Licensures & Certificates(must be active and current.)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Colorado driver's license with acceptable driving record
Up to 28 hours per week for 32 weeks. Days and times may vary.
