The Cities of Neenah and Menasha, through a joint fire department, are seeking a progressive leader to be their next Fire Chief, providing management and oversight of four stations and assigned staff.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Note: Employees with equivalent out-of-state certifications must receive the Wisconsin certifications within 12 months of hire.- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and
- Eight (8) or more years supervisory experience in fire service, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Wisconsin Fire Officer I;
- Wisconsin Firefighter I and II;
- Fire Officer II & III (within 36 months of hire);
- NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 (within 12 months of hire);
- Preferred: Chief Fire Officer Certification and/or Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Certifications;
- Valid WI Driver License or ability to obtain with in 60 days of hire
Position Summary:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations relevant to managing and directing fire prevention, fire investigations, operations, suppression, emergency rescue services, and department personnel for the joint fire district of Neenah and Menasha, WI. Prepares and implements the department's operational plans, annual operating and long-term capital improvement budgets, labor negotiations, and personnel matters. Serves as the Emergency Management Director for the City of Neenah. Works with limited supervision and works under the direction of both the Neenah and Menasha Mayor Elect. This position serves as a working supervisor to the department.

- The starting salary for the position is $97,007.82, exempt. Some negotiation will be considered regarding education and experience. Wages above budgeted appropriations will require Common Council approval.
