JOB SUMMARY:

Performs duties related to monitoring recreational programs at New Iberia Pepperplex.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs routine work in supervising participants and monitoring activities at Pepperplex. Provides facility set-up and break-down in accordance with programming and events and performs light cleaning duties. Does related work as required.

SEASONAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday mornings and evenings; Saturdays and Sundays as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises Pepperplex participants and spectators
• Enforces all rules and regulations of the Pepperplex
• Making sure no food or drinks enter the Pepperplex
• Enforcing program block times
• Making sure no foul language or other obscene behavior occurs
• Enforcing dress/proper athletic footwear code
• Ensuring that children 8 and under are under the direct supervision of a guardian 16 years of age or older
• Ensures that all programs and events during shift are executed and monitored
• Operates scoreboard and manages team play during adult pickup times
• Ensures the safety and well-being of all guests in the Pepperplex in accordance with facility polices
• Interacts with participants as needed to maintain a positive environment and provide excellent customer service
• Performs light cleaning duties to ensure the Pepperplex is clean and in good working condition
• Monitors all entrances and exits
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 16 years old with experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

• Some knowledge of organized athletics and recreation center procedures.
• Ability to communicate and enforce facility policies and procedures
• Ability to resolve conflict among participants and spectators
• Ability to follow oral and written direction
• Ability to take initiative and follow through
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with gymnasium participants, spectators, and general public
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to perform set-up and break-down of programs and events at Pepperplex

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
