Environment and Planning works to protect, restore, expand, and manage New York City’s green spaces and natural areas to maximize their benefits for environmental and community health and resilience.
The Environment and Planning division includes Central Forestry programs, Forestry Operations, the Natural Resources Group, Nurseries, and Planning teams.

Major Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision of the Deputy Chief of Administration, with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform responsible work in the oversight, planning, management, and coordination of the division's administrative tasks.
- Track and report on status of job vacancies, assist hiring managers with interview procedures, facilitate employee on-boarding, and maintain personnel database and division contact lists.
- Assist with contacting candidates and scheduling interviews.
- Track lines and vacancies; assist with recruitment as needed.
- Manage and track use of Citytime, LOA, FMLA, Workers Comp, etc.
- Assist with the distribution of payroll and management of Citytime; monitor annual leave balances and overtime earnings.
- Liaise with Human Resources, Payroll and Timekeeping, Benefits, and Labor Relations divisions as needed.
- Assist with the administration and tracking of all employee evaluations, absence control reports, and probation reviews.
- Facilitate and track the completion of required training by division staff.
- Monitor and prepare reports on agency's Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) expenditures and work with division’s purchasing liaisons to resolve issues.
Prepare summary reports and present findings to management.
- Act as liaison between division staff and Parks IT to ensure resolution of all hardware and software needs, as well as any telephone and wireless requests.
- Submit requests for facility repair and maintenance needs in AMPS system and monitor to ensure issues are resolved.
- Attend agency, inter-agency, and external meetings on behalf of Administration team.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and / or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
1.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. 2.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
3.High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, and SharePoint).4.Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
5.Valid New York State driver license.
