Nature of Work
Responsible for providing lifeguarding expertise and serving as part of the Aquatics Management Team. Works under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator.This work involves all activities related to the management and safe operation of a municipal swimming pool.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and oversees staff for lifeguarding and lessons by planning, scheduling, supportingaquatic staff.This position will be part of the lifeguard rotation during any given day, as well as filling in during other lifeguard absences.
Assists in the development of day-to-day operational procedures and leads by example by following procedures.
Provides leadership and mentorship to staff and enhance their job performance and safety standards.
Assist with orientation and onboarding process of new employees.
Maintain the swimming pools to adhere to local health regulations.
Responds to staff and public inquiries in a courteous manner; resolves conflicts in a timely manner.
Ensures safety of staff and guests by maintaining the appropriate number of guards are always on duty.
Lifeguards, teaches swim lessons and manages the facility as needed.
Responsible for checking and maintaining proper chemical readings, records, and chemical levels, and pump room operations. adjusts as required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that rotates with other Head Lifeguard staff - this will regularly include nights and weekends in the rotation.
This is a full-time position working up to 40 hours per week.
Makes recommendations and administers routine personnel matters affecting staff, including interviewing applicants, hiring, scheduling, promoting, disciplining, terminating, etc.
Schedules and/or performs regular maintenance of the entire pool area, which include filtration systems, activity pool and lap pool and other pool amenities.
Oversee the aquatic program, which includes various levels of swimming lessons, water fitness and other aquatic programs.
Assists in pool schedule preparation helps with promotion of registration and participation.
May work special events throughout the year when requested.
Driving is an essential part of the job.
Education and Experience

Must be 18 years old and have current certifications in
Lifeguard Training, C.P.R. (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and AED.
W.S.I. (Water Safety Instructor) Preferred But Not Required.
Previous aquatics experience including at least 2 years of lifeguarding and swim instruction. 1 year of aquatic supervision preferred. Basic knowledge of pool maintenance or any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Supplemental Information
Requires a Colorado Drivers License and a good driving record.
Must pass a background, physical & drug screen
Starting Pay is $20.43
