General Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is responsible case work involving the general day to day activities and organization of applicants to programs for assistance primarily in the form of rent and utility aid.
Work involves responsibility for guiding clients through the application process including, but not limited to, performing client intakes, identifying and keeping track of all documentation submitted, and referring clients to additional programs and local resources. As a liaison for our community partners, the community caseworker will be responsible for regular communication, providing the most up to date information, tracking submission progress, and answering questions that local caseworkers and their clients may have. The caseworker is also responsible for tracking client demographic information and the assistance awarded for the entire department in preparation for the cumulative report that will be submitted at the conclusion of the program for state review.

Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as the primary liaison to community partners by communicating effectively and regularly to solve application hurdles and assist in submitting complete and qualifying applications.
Maintain consistent communication with a caseload of over 10 clients with a fast turnover rate.
Provide comprehensive case management via telephone, assisting clients in gathering the corresponding documentation for qualifying programs in additional to the Cares Program.
Keep current and expand knowledge in the areas of local/state housing policy, Coronavirus updates, food insecurity, and ALICE populations and serve as a resource person for client, partners, and the community.
Plan and administer presentations familiarizing local partners with application procedures.
Work with partners and NHS staff to create, implement, and maintain data collection tools and methods for assessment of the grant"s cusses, distribution, and effects throughout the community.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a human service related field, plus two recent years of responsible experience in human service related work. Recent is defined as being within the last three years. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Considerable ability in oral and written communications.
Considerable ability to relate to adults in crisis.
Considerable interviewing and counseling skills.
Considerable ability to administer policies and procedures including scheduling, day-to-day problem solving, and report writing.
Considerable ability to plan and execute a range of rental and utility-oriented assistance programs.
Knowledge of available community agencies and their programs.
Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, other agency staff and officials and the general public. Physical Requirements

Must be able to read and interpret professional journals and government regulations, write standard reports and correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. The position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete problems involving several concrete variables.
